Pitt Cue Co. + Hawksmoor BBQ. @ Southbank 6.7.11

Hawksmoor teamed up with Pitt Cue Co last night for an awesome BBQ at Southbank.
On the menu was a ‘Not Dog’ Pork & beef sausage, super succulent BBQ pork Rib & kimchi on a bed of black beans, coleslaw and pickled veg, then washed down with a Devil’s Architect pale ale from Camden Brewery.
Sadly I neglected to get any shots of the food as I was too busy scoffing it!
EspressoMelbourne.com
Have recently been checking out this website EspressoMelbourne.com and remembering all the great coffee and Melbourne and Australia in general. It’s also making me really homesick.
So many little great places down alleys, the great specialty coffee roasters and amazing baristas, being in London really has made me appreciate the amazing coffee & cafe culture Australia has.
Great Photography too.

Album(s) of the Week.
Two Albums that i have been playing here in my “office” aka home.
SBTRKT - SBTRKT
Has a very cool cover too.

Think James Blake times Mount Kimbie meets Joy Orbison.
And
Austra - Feel it Break

Trio out of Canada. From memory I think the lead singer is classically trained which explains the powerful & beautiful vocals on all tracks.

Grays of Westminster

Wowsers - the second hand room
Visited the lovely people at Grays of Westminster yesterday and was blown away and overwhelmed. The exclusively Nikon shop boasts a ridiculously great collection of second hand gear, collectors gear, as well as all the latest digital goodies. They tend to bit a little pricey, but definitely worth it for their great service and knowledge. I went there intending to buy a new lens and ended up leaving empty handed as I was too overwhelmed at the choice.
A Portrait of Jacob Trailer. A film by Pundersons Gardens.
In 1970 at the age of 24, Jacob Holdt left for America with $40 in his pocket and not much else. He lived there for six years without any income whatsoever. Hitchhiking 161,265 km through 48 states and taking over 15,000 photographs on a cheap half frame camera, he bargained his way into President Nixon’s headquarters with as much ease as he became an inhabitant of some of the nation’s toughest ghettos. This film focuses on the stories and images Jacob has collected, in a measured and reflective wander through the fantastical tales of a man who allowed the world to accommodate him. The film premiered at The Photographers Gallery London in 2008 and has since been shown in festivals throughout Europe.
